The disabilities landscape is a complex one, with new information and approaches informing how UCP affiliates provide services and can think about new opportunities. This session combines a leading medical researcher and a program developer in discussing how affiliates can do everything from take advantage of breakthroughs in medical research locally to develop new programs and resources that look at holistic approaches to program development.

Mission Driven Businesses positively impact the people they serve and society generally with a focus on products, services, clients, suppliers, and partners. They solve real problems, provide true value and increase local or global social wealth directly and through their practices. These organizations identify goals and objectives that transcend profit, establish and report on concrete metrics to evaluate their impacts and progress, and act as examples on how to be better global citizens, marketing their impact.

Emerging Leaders/Development: Planning for the future through Planned Giving Every nonprofit wants to raise funds ... fast. A planned giving program is not a fast project. It takes time to construct and even more time to realize results, but the payoff is well worth it! This session explores the ways that UCP affiliates can construct a planned giving program from the ground up and explores the resources needed, over time, to succeed.

This session is geared specifically for marketing and communications professionals. Participants will share marketing, communications and social media solutions used to promote the UCP and brand. This is an opportunity to share success stories and gain new insight that participants can take back to their affiliates.

1:30 pm – 3 pm Plenary: Mobilizing the Next Generation
As Baby Boomers look toward retirement, a huge leadership void will be felt in the nonprofit landscape. From nonprofit executives to future volunteer leaders, affiliates need to plan now for a new generation of leaders. Explore what matters most to those you’re trying to recruit as the leader of UCP’s Young Benefactors group joins forces with young activists to find out what matters most to Generation X, Y and beyond.

3:30 – 5 pm Plenary: Global Collaboration/Local Impact
The issues impacting UCP affiliates are not unique to the United States. Creative international partnerships can expand our reach and has the potential to impact all affiliates, regardless of budget size. Join UCP’s international leaders as they discuss a new international collaboration that has the potential to change the disability landscape for the entire network.

What is working and what isn't? Can we create a global message that allows all UCP affiliates to raise more money for vital services and research? Join this "best practices" session with a discussion on a global movement to raise awareness for disabilities.
