Housing is a critically important program and service area for people with disabilities, which includes the enlarging universe of the "baby boom" generation. With advances in design, technology and building systems that can integrate new features quickly and efficiently, improvements are available and can be included in home construction and renovation more easily and at a lower cost than ever before. The need for improvements and enhancements for people with disabilities is immediate and profound: estimate of the number of people with disabilities in 2020 run as high as one-in-ten.

A Home for All Americans  brought together leaders involved in architecture, design, construction and technology, as well as leaders in the disability field, who discussed available and emerging technologies, design options and building methods.
