Sports & Leisure
Sport and leisure activities are essential elements of well-rounded lives. This philosophy is also important for people with disabilities of all ages. There is an ever-growing field of adaptive sports for people with disabilities, and it is not just happening in your local neighborhood recreation program. Disabled sports programs, according to interests and abilities, are at every level of participation, from local recreation programs, to collegiate sports programs to the Paralympics and even professional sports teams. Sports and leisure programs provide opportunities for people with disabilities to socialize, relax and enjoy the benefits of recreation.
