Part of the Community: Strategies for Including Everyone
The book Part of the Community: Strategies for Including Everyone is based on work of the University of New Hampshire's Institute on Disability (IOD) to promote full inclusion of individuals with disabilities in New Hampshire. The authors show how they have changed their community to better support and enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities and their peers, families, professionals, and community members tell their stories of successful (and unsuccessful) community inclusion--from early intervention to high school to entering the workforce. The book is complete with models and strategies on designing natural community supports.
