my son is 2 also, i've found it easist to cut the back of his head when he's sleeping. i can do the sides with him lying across my lap b/c he usually relaxes in that position. i try to get the front when he's in a special chair watching tv. it's not easy, i usually do a little bit at a time b/c he keeps trying to look at the scissors and starts to get fussy when i keep moving them away from him. we did take him to a place specializing in cutting children's hair once and i would take him back. he didn't like the razor but a lot of other boys didn't like it either! my husband just held him and we gave him a few breaks. good luck!
