ADA Information
The ADA covers public schools under Title II. Public school systems, including those covered by Section 504, must comply with the ADA in all of their services, programs and activities, including those that are open to parents or to the public, such as graduation ceremonies, parent-teacher organizations' meetings, plays and adult education classes. They must ensure program accessibility and appropriate auxiliary aids and services whenever necessary to ensure effective communication, as long as the provision of the auxiliary aids results neither in an undue burden nor in a fundamental alteration of the program.
Other places of education, such as private schools at the levels of nursery, elementary, secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate, are covered under Title III.
