Anne Rader
Ms. Rader has over a 20 year career in public policy, strategic planning, advocacy and management consulting in global health, public health, economic development and education within the private, public and non-profit sectors. Ms. Rader is currently an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton supporting global and civil health care issues, within the Public Health and Preparedness team, for Federal and non-profit client interests. She currently serves as a Member of the National Council on Disability, having been appointed to the Council by President George Bush in 2003 and re-appointed in March 2008. She serves as Chair of the Healthcare Team for the Council and the representative to the Interagency Committee on Emergency Preparedness for People with Disabilities.
Prior, Ms. Rader served as Assistant Vice President for a New-York City-based non-profit management consulting firm providing strategic planning, management, technical and financial services to support community-building efforts of low-capacity non-profit organizations and small businesses. She worked with non-profit organizations in underserved areas across the country to facilitate economic self-sufficiency through workforce development, economic development, healthcare, and homeownership programs. Ms. Rader spent six years in the Housing and Community Development division at Fannie Mae, supporting community-based programs, social investment, and outreach and education to increase affordable housing and community development in distressed neighborhoods.
Ms Rader has broad experience in public affairs and public policy having worked for Cassidy & Associates with their Healthcare and Education group, working with health and education institutions to secure Federal support of their institutional programmatic needs including cancer research and distance-learning programs. Ms. Rader served as Special Assistant to Secretary Elizabeth Dole at the Department of Labor under President George Herbert Walker Bush where she implemented the Glass Ceiling Initiative and employment provisions of the then newly-enacted Americans with Disabilities Act.
Ms. Rader is active in advocacy and public policy outreach for people with disabilities. In addition to serving on the National Council on Disability, she serves on the Board of Trustees for United Cerebral Palsy Associations. She is also a speaker on disability and has served on international delegations and national panels to promote greater dialogue and understanding of disability cross-culturally.
Ms. Rader received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and has a Master of Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
