2008 will continue to include conference attendees from the larger disability community as we move toward an international disability conference in collaboration with other disability groups. This move will greatly expand the breadth and depth of the program, as well as the audience, exhibitors and sponsors.

| 9:00 am 10:30 am | Opening Plenary: Peoples Participation for Real Change in Healthcare Keynote: Newt Gingrich, Founder of the Center for Health Transformation and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich will present his analysis of the powerful, underlying trends that will redefine the health system in the coming years, and he will outline what should be done to bring better health with more choices at lower cost to all Americans. He will specifically explore the critical role that health and disability nonprofits have to play in this new arena and, most importantly, the role that individuals with disabilities should and will play in reshaping the system as they make decisions about their own care. |
