Special Olympics For All Ages at UCP
SPECIAL OLYMPICS FOR ALL AGES AT UCP

Middle school, high school and adults: Basketball (Registration in progress for October 25 through January 16 season) and Volleyball (January 3 through April 11).
Ages 2 through 7: Young Athletes Program (Saturday mornings) offers innovative sports play exercises designed to develop physical, cognitive and social skills in children with and without disabilities including kids who use wheelchairs. The program runs for 24 weeks and is the first of its kind in Volusia County. Saturday morning class sizes are limited and immediate registration is encouraged.
All Special Olympic activities are free to athletes and their families. Contact Dotti Bernhard at 386.274.6474 or specialolympics@ucpecf.org.
Those wishing to participate in Special Olympics Basketball need to:
+ Register in person or by phone with Dotti Bernhard, UCP Special Olympics Coordinator, at 386.274.6474. Deadline for Basketball registration is October 30, 2009.
+ Obtain a Medical Release form from Dotti or Lydia (at UCP reception desk).
+ Form must be signed by a doctor indicating approval for the participant to play.
Signed forms must be returned to UCP no later than Tuesday, December 1. Once signed, medical forms are good for all Special Olympics activities for a period of three (3) years.
BASKETBALL: All practices are scheduled for 10 am on Sunday mornings at Embry Riddle University (ERAU) on Clyde Morris Boulevard. Competitions will be scheduled at other venues. Notification of unforeseen changes will be communicated immediately if they occur.
October 25, November 1, 8, 15, 22, December 6 (ERAU)
- (Saturday, December 12 - county competition in Deltona)
December 20, January 3, 10 (ERAU)
- (Saturday, January 16 - area competition in Flagler)
