Study for Parents of Children with Cerebral Palsy
Dear Parent,
My name is David Dahlbeck, and I am a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at The University of Memphis. As an undergraduate college student I worked as a camp counselor at a summer camp specifically geared for children with disabilities. This experience greatly impacted me personally and continues to influence and direct my career as a counseling psychologist. Through my work at this camp, I also realized the importance to help not only the children with disabilities but their families as well. Therefore, this research is designed to help researchers and clinicians gain a greater understanding of the needs of families with a child diagnosed with cerebral palsy. More specifically, we are interested in how mothers and fathers of children with cerebral palsy adjust and cope with their child's disability.
If you are interested in participating in this survey and would like to learn more about the study, please click on this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=D8RE8K0_2bjKo4FfqBKZSvMA_3d_3d
After completing the survey you will be given the opportunity to enter into a raffle to win one of several iPod shuffles.
We strongly encourage dads to complete the survey. A father's perspective is very much needed in today's research.
We truly appreciate your help in this effort.
Kind regards,
David Dahlbeck, M.A.
