Capstone Academy Welcomes New Principal

Tom Harrell has been selected to serve as Principal of Capstone Academy, an inclusive learning and therapeutic environment for pre-school children of all abilities. Mr. Harrell is a credentialed educator with extensive teaching and administrative experience in the Escambia County School District. He is an alumnus of the University of West Florida, received his M.S. in Administration and Supervision form Troy State University and earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Alabama. He was honored with Ransom Middle School’s Teacher of the Year in 1980, awarded Associate Master Teacher Status in 1985, and named Principal of the Year in Escambia County in 2006. He is an active member of Richard’s Memorial United Methodist Church and Cantonment Rotary Club.

Capstone Academy, 4901 West Fairfield Drive was established by United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Florida in 2004 as an inclusive educational opportunity for all children from birth to 5 years of age. Providing a learning environment that will have the greatest impact on early learning for infants and toddlers, it is designed to enhance the opportunity for success as children prepare for kindergarten and first grade.
