United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln Awarded Distinguished 2008 Bronze Award from the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence
The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence announces United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln (UCP) as a recipient of the 2008 Lincoln Bronze Award for Commitment to Excellence for their earnest efforts to adopt and apply continuous improvement principles. United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln will be formally honored, along with 2 additional recipients, at a recognition ceremony on January 16, 2009 at Tellabs in Naperville.
United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln is a nonprofit organization providing services to people with disabilities in Central Illinois. UCP is a recognized leader in the disability field for their commitment to quality and visionary leadership with a focus on the future for individuals with disabilities. Factors that set UCP apart include serving individuals with severe disabilities, responsiveness and flexibility, a greater breadth of programs developed to meet individual needs rather than seeking individuals to fit programs, and opportunities for services throughout their life span. In 2004 UCP selected the Baldrige Criteria for Excellence as a roadmap to guide the organization on their path to excellence. Implementation of the criteria has enabled UCP to engage staff, customers, and stakeholders in the quality improvement process. “It is an honor for United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln to be selected as the first social service organization to receive the Lincoln Bronze Award for Committment to Excellence. Our goal is to engage both staff and customers in UCP’s Path to Excellence by making UCP a place of choice to work as well as a place of choice for Services, states Brenda L.
