Therapies
Cerebral palsy can be managed with daily therapy, actually increasing bodily control, functionality, and independence.
Physical therapy seeks to improve muscle flexibility and movement. It can also help someone with CP master movements such as sitting, crawling and walking.
Speech and language therapy helps those with CP develop communications skills. This may include speech, sign language, or alternative methods of communication.
Occupational therapy helps the person with CP gain skills needed for day-to-day activities, such as eating and dressing. It focuses on fine motor skills and use of the senses.
