UCP Delrey School's Mayfair a Success
UCP Delrey School celebrated spring with its 6th Annual Mayfair event on Saturday, May 9. Raising more than $7,000 for the school, the parking lot was filled with vendors ranging from Pampered Chef and Tastefully Simple to homemade crafts and flowers, a baked goods table, and plenty of good food and refreshments. If you wanted other ways to spend your money, however, there were also 20 raffle baskets to bid on and a 50/50 raffle. The event also provided entertainment for the crowd including a magician, games for the kids, animals on display from The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and several musical acts, including 4and0, a band which boasts three past and present UCP board members.
In addition, new to this year’s fair was a one-mile Stroll N Roll. This non-competitive walk was a pledge-based fundraiser that encouraged participants to collect donations from friends and family in support of their efforts. With more than 50 registered participants, Will Clements, a student of UCP Delrey School was recognized as the top fundraiser for collecting more than $1,200 to benefit the school. Congratulations, Will, and thank you to all the many sponsors who helped make the first Stroll N Roll such a success. It was truly a wonderful day for the children, parents, staff, and community.
