5th Annual UCP Golf Classic Raises $30,000 for Individuals with Disabilities

Thanks to the many golfers, sponsors, and contributors, this year’s tournament netted $30,000 to benefit UCP of Central Maryland’s core programs and services for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, including funds to purchase a Youth Up n’ Go Walker, a much needed piece of physical therapy equipment for the UCP Delrey School.

The day-long event offered attendees the opportunity to enjoy 18 holes of golf, breakfast, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, lunch, a live auction, awards sponsored by Nike Golf, and a 50/50 raffle. Golfers also had the opportunity to meet and listen to D.J. Gregory. Gregory is nationally known for walking every hole of every round of every PGA Tour event in 2008, despite having cerebral palsy and being told he would never walk. That's 44 tournaments in 45 weeks, more than 180 rounds, 3,256 holes, and 988 miles.

UCP gratefully thanks all the participants, especially Stephen L. Snyder & Family for presenting this year’s tournament, as well as the volunteers and members of the Golf Committee for making this year’s event a success.
