Neil Sauter's Stilt Walk Across Michigan!

Neil Sauter receiving thank you from Carolyn Brown, UCP Staff Member

Neil Sauter began his Stiltwalk Across Michigan Monday, May 5, 2008 in Lambertville, Michigan. He stilt walked across the entire state of Michigan in just eight weeks in order to spread his message and UCP's message of "Life Without Limits." Neil completed his journey at the Michigan/Wisconsin border on June 28th in Ironwood, Michigan. He's raised over $70,000 with the help of a matching grant from the U.S. Department of Education that allowed UCP to match a portion of his money with federal dollars to benefit UCP Michigan's Assistive Technology Loan Fund.

Neil was warmly welcomed all across Michigan.

Neil was warmly welcomed all across Michigan as he stilt walked over 800 miles to raise dollars and awareness for United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan's Assistive Technology Loan Fund. He said that out of two months of being on the road, he only had to pay for lodging one night. He was overwhelmed by the generosity of the citizens of the state of Michigan.
