Summer Camps

Question: Are there summer camps for my child with a disability? Is there anyone who will help me pay for camp?

Answer: Camp-O-Rama is a listing of 62 day-camps and overnight camps that accept children with various disabilities. Most are segregated and do not mix campers with and without disabilities. Springhill Christian Camp in Evart is an exception, having an inclusive program for youth with and without disabilities. Camp-O-Rama

The Children With Special Needs Fund (for children eligible for Children’s Special Health Care Services) may pay up to $500 on a “first come, first served” basis toward the cost of camp. You may contact the Fund directly at 517-241-7420 or through CSHCS at 800-359-3722.

Camps sometimes have their own scholarship programs, so you may want to ask the camp you are interested in about financial aid.
