Customized Employment
Objective: To provide customized service to the customer that will enable them to maintain employment within their community. We aim to provide service to individuals who face challenging obstacles when seeking out employment.
Person Centered Planning
A Person Center Plan provides direction in two ways 1. Identifies the foundations of supports that the customer has. 2. To begin to map out what really “fits” into the customer’s life for now and what steps need to be taken in order to over come the barriers that the customer may be facing to be able to work towards their vocational goal.
Personal Profile & Profile Meeting
By identifying the individual’s abilities through a month long process of getting to know the customer’s conditions, preferences and contributions for achieving their vocational goal towards employment. This will also translate into a profile meeting to develop a targeted list of employers to develop and carve out employment opportunities for the customer.
Job Development
By utilizing the Vocational Profile/Profile meeting, let’s look at ways to individually represent and negotiate a job for the customer, including face to face meetings, job restructuring, and using a portfolio to assist in carving out a job for the customer. This does include 1 year of follow along to ensure that the position was properly designed for the customer.
Job Site Analysis
As designing a job is important, so is the how the job is broken down to ensure that the customer can succeed. The Job Analysis will identify the customer’s specific tasks, episodic routines, job related routines and important cultural aspects of the customer’s position
Mentoring (Peer Support)
The purpose of mentoring to assist individuals with disabilities on paths of self-discovery as they identify specific goals and explore ways to achieve their specific employment goal. Mentors are able to works with consumers in identifying their specific needs if necessary assist people in connecting to the appropriate program or service available in their community. Mentors are able to guide people with disabilities in learning about and securing access to vital community resources that will allow them to maintain the supports that they need in order to stay employed.
