Click here to return to Table of Contents. An Evening of Friends, Food and Fun

Carol Brooks Food… Dancing… Bingo. These are the things that make for a fun-filled evening. A night out is what many of us take for granted. But this night is a special one. For many of our guests, this is their only night out of the house and on their own each year.

SEQUINS, SILK, SUITS AND TIES.
UCP’s Annual Consumer Banquet is a gala event held just for those involved in UCP programs, staff members and volunteers. Dressed to the nines, 170 attendees came from all over St. Louis and St. Charles to spend an evening with friends. Friends Only! Family members do not attend, creating an evening of independence and freedom.

Debra Rogers dancing with volunteer, Joe McDermott Held at the Viking in Southwest St. Louis County, this special evening included dinner, dancing and a friendly game of Bingo, complete with prizes. Fred Veinfurt & Associates provided the DJ, Brett Akers, who has been spinning the music for this banquet for many years. “This event is very momentous for our consumers,” explains Shari Clay, UCP’s Adult Day Program Director. “Folks plan all year for it! They shop for a new dress and shoes, get their hair done, buy a new suit and tie. Some bring a date. It is fun to see everyone in a whole different manner that evening.”
