Proud Owner of a Speech Impediment
-
Proud Owner of a Speech Impediment by Tom Cribbin is a self-published collection of narratives and dialogues that give the reader a better understanding of life with a speech disability.
Cribbin’s speech is affected by cerebral palsy. He reflects about having friends who speak English as a second language and growing to see his own speech as having an “accent”.
While the narrative portions of Cribbin’s book are well written, the dialogue portions often seem artificial and could benefit from professional editing. Overall, the book conveys positive messages about accepting and celebrating differences.
Cribbin owns a market research business in Sarnia, Ontario. His book may be purchased for $12.39 (U.S. dollars, includes postage) by email at thomas.cribbin@sympatico.ca or phone at (519) 344-8674.
