Adult Services
Adult Day Programs (Alternatives)
UCP Central PA operates twelve Adult Day Programs in five counties
The Day Programs enable adults with disabilities to engage in a wide range of activities that are best suited to their individual interests and abilities. Our programs challenge these adults to pursue continuing education opportunities in the areas of:
• Independent living
• Communication
• Pre-vocation
• Animal care
• Recreation
A significant aspect of UCP’s adult day programs is the ability of participants to socialize and experience the community by taking part in local educational and recreational activities, as well as a variety of service projects. Program participants give back to the community through:
• Volunteer work at animal shelters or nursing homes
• Adopt-A-Highway projects
• Delivering Meals-on-Wheels
• Collecting toys for the Toys-for Tots program
