Children's Services
Summer Recreation
UCP's Summer Recreation Program provides support to school-aged children, with physical and mental disabilities, and their families. Summer Recreation provides a child with a support counselor to enable them to attend a local township summer camp setting. The staff provided adapts activities as needed, helping the children become more involved with their peers, encouraging recreational, and social growth for all children. Every effort is made to build natural supports of friends in the community and increase the knowledge and skill level of the community
Program Staff are responsible for:
- Planning strategies and methods to assist the child in participating in recreational and social settings
- Working directly with the child to ensure successful participation and a meaningful, fun experience
- Meeting with the family and all other members of the team involved with the child's activities
- Assisting the family in communicating with everyone involved with the child's activities
