Public Transportation Advocacy
United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan works to increase the voice of people with disabilities when transportation decisions are made in Michigan. We are working to increase the knowledge of decision-makers about accessible public transportation, to increase their support for public transportation, and to increase the skills of advocates working locally for improved public transportation.
We are also collaborating with the Michigan Land Use Institute, an environmental policy and advocacy organization, on issues of joint interest. Together we have produced four reports about transportation and related land use issues in Michigan:
- New Economic Engine (2001)
- The Regional Ride (2002)
- 10 Ways to Increase Michigan's Prosperity (2003)
- Follow the Money (2004)
Articles:
- Envrionmentalists & Disability Advocates??
- Michigan Land Use Recommendations for Transit
- A Common Disability Agenda 07 - Transportation Draft
- Transportation Study Grant from Michigan Office of Services to the Aging
