Assistive Technology
Touching Lives Through Technology
Touching Lives Through Technology collaborates with families, professionals, and community organizations to enhance the lives of children and adults with disabilities through the use of assistive technology. The program is dedicated to creating an awareness of assistive technology so that all may have the opportunity to become active participants at home, at school, at work, and in the community.
The technology library offers families and professionals an opportunity to preview a variety of software products, communication devices, adaptive toys, computer interfaces, switches, and educational tools. The software library offers a variety of choices for personal computers that focuses on skills such as reading, writing, math, independent living and access methods. In addition, a variety of print and training materials are available to preview.
Training sessions are provided by partner organizations in the utilization of the technology equipment and software programs. Workshops covering a variety of topics are scheduled on a regular basis.
