Advocacy
UCP of Nebraska is a member of the NCCD (Nebraska Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities) and advocates to improve public policy and needed legislation for people with disabilities
UCP volunteers and staff monitor federal, state and local legislation of interest to people with disabilities.
Additionally, UCP provides support to families throughout the year so that they can become effective advocates for themselves or family member. UCP assists families who have school-age children with disabilities to successfully navigate through the Individual Education Program and Special Education regulations.
