Tech Tots

The Tech Tots Toy Lending Libraries provide developmental toys, adapted toys and devices to children with developmental and physical disabilities, at no cost to families.

Play is an essential component of growing up and is the most important work explored by children. As children engage in play, they practice and master specific physical, psychosocial, emotional, and creative skills necessary for understanding and interacting with the world around them.

As children all have different abilities, so too are their methods of operating devices and accessing information. The use of adapted toys and devices decrease physical and social barriers to play, enabling children at varied functional levels to actively explore and achieve some independence. By equalizing play through these modifications, children learn about the cause-effect relationships and practice creative problem solving.

As children recognize their abilities through the work of play, they gain the self-confidence necessary for handling challenges in all areas of daily living.

How to Use Tech Tots
A hands-on approach is encouraged when selecting toys in order to meet the individual learning needs and interests of each child.

Parents, professionals and other care providers can become a member of the Tech Tots Library by visiting one of our sites located throughout the state.

Toys and materials are checked out for one month AT NO COST. Please contact the site for hours of operation.

Tech Tots Inventory
The Tech Tots Toy Lending Libraries offer standard developmental toys, adapted toys, communication devices, switches, environmental controls, books, and videos. Inventory does vary by location, so please check with the site coordinator
