Family Support Project
On November 20, 2004, Governor Rendell signed Act 98 of 2004, the Family Support Act for Persons with Physical Disabilities. The Act established the principles of Family Support in law as a guideline for all such programs. It also directs the Department of Public Welfare to seek funding for a pilot program. The Family Support Advisory Council of UCP of PA worked closely with the Department of Public Welfare to develop demonstration projects in three areas of Pennsylvania that began July 1, 2006.
