About UCP
Established in 1952, UCP of Pennsylvania was established by a group of dedicated volunteers and professionals who felt strongly about advocating and creating opportunities for persons with disabilities.
In over 50 years of service, names and faces have changed, but the core mission and values of the Pennsylvania Board of Directors remain relatively unchanged. Advocating for the independence, productivity and full participation of people with disabilities means that UCP of Pennsylvania is active in presenting concerns of the disability community and working with Commonwealth Departments of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Retardation and Office of Social Program staff to craft programming and legislation that is beneficial and inclusive for all Pennsylvanians.
