For over half a century, UCP has been meeting the needs of individuals of all ages with all types of disabilities and special needs, from pediatric to geriatric. A listing of the 10 most prevalent diagnoses or conditions of the program participants who utilitized our services over the past year includes:

  • Mental retardation

  • Speech and language problems

  • Developmental delay

  • Premature birth

  • Diabetes

  • Stroke

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Down Syndrome

  • Gross motor delay

 

UCP currently provides both community and center-based programs and services in 15 Central Pennsylvania counties and operates from 18 facilities: the Capital Area Children’s Center, thirteen adult day programs, three group residences, and an assistive living apartment program.

 

A broad cross-section of the community was touched in one way or another by UCP programs and services over the past year. From July 2007 to June 2008, UCP provided programs and services to enhance the lives of over 3,500 individuals and families in 15 counties throughout Central PA.
