Executive Director's Welcome
Our Executive Director, Peter Quattromani welcomes you to UCP Rhode Island:
Founded in 1954, UCP Rhode Island is a locally funded nonprofit agency serving individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities and their families. Our mission is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of the people we serve. Despite their disabilities, the adults we support manage their own lives, live in their communities with our help, and work or go to school, whenever possible. They differ only by requiring physical, social, therapeutic, mechanical, or electronic support. The children we support live with their families, because UCP Rhode Island’s services relieve caregiving and financial strains that make raising a child with a disability so stressful to both the family and child. We currently serve about 170 individuals in our adult supported living, children and family services, and adult arts and education programs.
UCP Rhode Island’s support of the people we serve is possible only to the extent that the community supports our organization. We cannot stay in business without the generosity of the citizens, companies and agencies of Rhode Island and Southeastern New England. But generosity does not flow in one direction. When people with disabilities can live in our communities, we all live in a richer environment. When people with disabilities can work, we increase the consumers of our goods and services. When people with disabilities can go to school or training, we build a diverse and talented workforce.
