Assistive Technology
In UCP’s history, many changes have come about which have increased the ability and opportunities for persons with disabilities to be included, active members of their communities. Perhaps none of these changes have made as significant a difference as in the technology area. Assistive technology is defined as any piece of equipment used by a person with a disability in order to communicate, work, play, learn or do any activity that their disability hinders or prevents.
UCP's Assistive Technology services help children and adults with disabilities, as well as older Pennsylvanians, to obtain, learn how to use, and finance devices which make full, active participation in their communities possible.
