About UCP

UCP United Cerebral Palsy’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by minimizing the effects of cerebral palsy and 150 similar physical disabilities. Through direct services, community education and advocacy, UCP helps individuals reach their full potential and families to adjust to the special needs of their children. Our UCP center on Max Luther Drive provides physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as educational and social services, to 600 children and adults in Madison, Marshall, Morgan, Limestone and Jackson counties in North Alabama.

Our new resource center, located at 1856 Keats Drive, houses the following programs: the T.A.S.C. (Technology Assistance for Special Consumers) computer lab and adaptive literature workshop; UCP’s SHARE (Special Help with Adaptive Resources & Equipment) program, which enables the community to borrow seating/mobility equipment, adaptive and developmental toys, and high-tech computers and augmentative communication systems; the Childcare Enhancement with a Purpose program, which offers free inclusion training to childcare providers; as well as UCP’s administrative team.
