What began as a few friends having a party in the garage of UCP Board member Russ Causey’s home in Otterbein, has now become an annual event generating over $6,000 to benefit the programs and services of UCP.
This year’s event featured live acoustic music in the spirit of Woodstock and late 60’s fashion headed by the band Offbeat which boasts three board members – Russ “Spoon Toe” Causey, John “the Talent” Lee and Nick “Pretty Boy” Richardson. Dave “Fingerpicker” Robertson and Owen “O” Johnson rounded out the group, and Jay Wachter of Entertainment Consultants appeared as a special guest leading the crowd in a rousing sing-a-long.
Completely underwritten by the band and their friends; rock fans, many in their best hippie garb, enjoyed a great picnic and made donations to make this one of UCP’s favorite fund and friend-raiser events. We can’t wait for Hoodstock IV!
