United Cerebral Palsy’s Board of Trustees consists of five officers and 11 trustees. UCP Trustees have varied backgrounds and experience, but all share a strong commitment to UCP’s mission of helping people with disabilities live a life without limits and to strengthening the organization itself.

Michael Burke Jr.

Michael is an entrepreneur and consultant based in northern Virginia.  He works primarily in commercial real estate and ecommerce.  In addition, he is currently working with the Economic Development Office of Arlington County, VA to ensure future business growth and a diversified economy.  He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Villanova University and studied for his masters in real estate finance at Georgetown University.

Michael began his relationship with UCP as a volunteer. Throughout his professional career he has been actively involved in multiple philanthropic organizations centered on disability issues and advocacy.  Michael is focused on finding ways to bring emerging technology and business models to the disability community.

Mike Meadors

Mike Meadors is an Account Executive with WKMG CBS NEWS 6 in Orlando Florida, selling both TV and Digital advertising. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. Before WKMG, he worked as an Account Executive for FOX TV. Mike currently serves as a member of UCP of Central Florida’s Executive Board. and was previously the Board Chair at UCP of Central Florida. He has had a direct hand in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for UCP of Central Florida. Mike has mild Cerebral Palsy, and this gives him a unique perspective on helping lead UCP’s efforts, both in fundraising and serving its clients.

Mike has been honored with many awards including Account Executive of the Year by Fox TV and Board Member of the Year from UCP of Central Florida.

Jeanne De Sa

Jeanne has over two decades of experience in healthcare policy, data analysis, and strategy.  She can translate complex developments in health care reform and reimbursement policy for a range of audiences and purposes and offers particular insights into the Medicare and Medicaid programs.  Her data analysis skills enhance strategy and business development in those areas.  More broadly she has deep insights in the area of health care system transformation, and can help clients navigate and effectively respond to the changing environment with new models of payment and delivery.  She also brings unique perspectives on the federal budget process and the health care economy, and can help organizations think about them strategically.

Prior to joining Healthsperien, Jeanne was Senior Vice President for Policy and Strategy at UnitedHealth Group where she led an interdisciplinary policy, data analysis, and research team at the enterprise’s Center for Health Reform & Modernization.  She also served as an advisor on health policy issues, including Medicaid, Medicare, ACA implementation, and delivery system reforms, conducted analytic and quantitative research on a range of topics related to modernizing the financing and delivery of health care, and consulted on the design of pilots for alternative models of care.  She authored a series of working papers and presented on a range of topics including: Medicare and Medicaid reform, specialty pharmacy, diabetes, genomics and novel diagnostics, and alternative to fee-for-service.

From 1997 to 2008, Jeanne served as a Principal Analyst at the Congressional Budget Office in the Budget Analysis Division’s health care section.  As one of the agency’s primary Medicaid, CHIP and low-income Medicare program analysts, she developed ten-year spending forecasts for health care entitlement programs and estimated the financial and programmatic impacts of policy interventions in Medicare, Medicaid, and public health programs.  She also has experience working with state governments on improving their health care systems through work at the Alpha Center (now part of AcademyHealth) and for the state of Massachusetts.

Jeanne is from New York and has a Master in Public Policy (MPP) from the Harvard Kennedy School and a degree in history from Dartmouth College.

Ruth Gullerud

Ruth Gullerud retired in May 2012 as the Executive Director of UCP of West Central Wisconsin, in Eau Claire, where she has worked since 1977 and served as CEO since 1984.  Her work with UCP of West Central Wisconsin has involved direct counseling with people with disabilities and their families, facilitating group counseling for parents, consulting with schools and M-Teams, supervising program staff, coordinating the affiliate’s diagnostic clinic, fundraising and public education/awareness.  She has been the Executive Director since 1984.  Previously, she was an advocate and guidance counselor with the Women’s Community Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Ruth received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her Master of Sciences in Guidance Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.  She served as a member of the Wisconsin State Board for People with Disabilities (1977 – 1989 and again from 2001 – present), a member of the Wisconsin Exceptional Education Council for Department of Public Instruction (1991 – 1994), and a member of the Board of the Accreditation Council on Services for People with Disabilities (1991- 1998).  Ruth currently serves on the Eau Claire County Advisory Committee on Specialized Transportation and the Wisconsin Alliance for Self-Determination.

A recipient of several outstanding leadership and management awards, Ruth has the pleasure of having hosted the Ruth Gullerud Show (focused on the world through challenges of disability) for Ashford Social Media (March 16 through April 27, 2012).
